Fridays and Saturdays are always the busiest days of the Beanies week with customers coming in to do their big weekly shop.
On Friday mornings we take delivery of our specialist fruit and veg order from a company called Oakleaf who specialise in European produce selected at the famous Rungis market in Paris. We do have to pay a little more for these lines but the quality and variety rarely disappoint - so we regard them as "reassuringly expensive!"
So I've been going round the shop this morning snapping away and generally getting under the feet of Matt and Lisa who are actually trying to work! It's great to see the new season English and European produce filling the shelves again - at last Matt has been able to reinstate the "UK grown" section of the display.
European Marsh Samphire has only a short season - grab some while you can!
