Posting this a little late owing to the Bank Holiday so apologies for that.

The boxes are looking more spring-like this week with a leafy UK grown Pak Choi and the Purple sprouting whichis really lovely at the moment.  Potatoes in the boxes this week will be Marfona, a good all rounder, early in the week and Maris Pipers on Thursday and Friday - Maris being the uintessential chipper or roaster.Locally grown pak choi and Purple Sprouting Broccoli  id=

So here's the break down of how the boxes should look this week all things being equal:


A -

  • Potatoes 1.2kg
  • Onions 0.5kg
  • Carrots 0.6kg
  • Pak choi
  • Purple Sprouting Broccoli
  • Leeks 0.6kg
  • Peppers 0.5kg (or a Celeriac for boxes later in the week)

B's will have an aubergine instead of potatoes

Butternut Squash from South African  id=D's will have 2kg potatoes and a butternut or a lettuce

E's will have an aubergine and a pepper or two

L's and M's will get mushrooms and a cucumber


UK Asparagus from the Vale of Evesham  id=On the conventional side of the shop we are starting to see some lovely Spring arrivals including UK grown Asparagus and samphireSalty sea vegetable samphire  id= and get your recipe books out for Rhubarb - we've moved on from the pink indoor grown first crops to the more robust outdoor variety.Outdoor rhubarb, full of flavour and coming down in price.  id=
