For the first time this week the English Asparagus has come down to a price where it becomes a viable Box ingredient! We’ll probably include asparagus a few times over the next few weeks providing quality is good. (It is something of an acquired taste so if you’re not partial give us a ring and we can put a Special Request on your box)Asparagus - delicious steamed or roasted id=

It is at its best this time of the year and it responds to the simplest of cooking – simply steam over a saucepan of boiling water or place in a roasting tin, season with salt and pepper and a glug of olive oil then roast in a medium oven for 20 to 25 minutes.

We are very happy to report that the 30th Anniversary Bike Ride went off without a hitch and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part. Watch this space for a fuller report of the day from a couple of staff participants. If you have any photos of the event please do share them with us on our Facebook page!
Here are one or two from Jake.
Our special thanks to Tony Cornah and friends who organised it for us. They did a fantastic job! Any votes for it becoming an annual event?
