Undoubtedly, you will have heard news of the dire weather conditions that have prevailed in Southern Europe – Spain in particular – and how these have affected supplies of many lines including courgettes, aubergines, lettuce, spinach and tomatoes. Availability of these is unreliable and prices have become prohibitive for inclusion in boxes. However, there’s still much UK-grown produce available for the time being and we have Leeks and Cabbage in the boxes this week. This week’s potato is Cara, a good all-rounder, and the Apples in the fruit boxes will be Coxes Orange Pippin.

Direct Debit Customers

If you are one of our Direct Debit customers please note that the system we have been using will be changing in the near future. You do not need to do anything as it will all be dealt with here but you may notice differences in the appearance of your notifications etc. It’s the nature of this sort of change that occasional errors occur so please check that payment is taken as you would expect and do get in touch if there seems to be an issue.

If you are not currently a Direct Debit customer and would like to adopt this, our preferred, method of payment, ask your driver for a Direct Debit Mandate form to fill in or ring the shop and request one. Unfortunately we are unable to process Direct Debit Mandates by email as a hard copy of your signature is required.

Wet weather

We would greatly appreciate it if, when leaving your empty veg boxes out for collection, you could ensure that they are kept out of the rain. Leave them undercover or flatten them and slip them into a bin bag if the weather looks dubious. We aim to use boxes five or six times before they are recycled but one good shower of rain makes them pretty much unusable. Having said that, do recycle them yourselves if you feel they have reached the end of their time!
