After the fun and games with vegetables this week it is with a degree of hesitation that I post the "idea" for next week's boxes, but here goes. Let's say you might receive the following:
D's will get an extra 600g potatoes and some Spring Onions
E's will get the Spring Onions and a Red Pepper
L's and M's will also get an Aubergine some chillies and a bag of Tomatoes.
As with last week we are expecting some disruption as a result of the difficulties of getting imported veg and more especially fruit. It is having a knock on effect on British produce too as these are rapidly getting used up and scarcer to come by. We're keeping our organic fingers crossed though.
Just a little reminder that if you are free on Sunday 12th July that the open day at Sheffield Organic Growers site in Hazelhurst will be worth a visit. Many growers will be there willing to chat about organic techniques so if you are a grower yourself go along and pick up some tips from the professionals!
We'd also like to welcome Rachael Eyton as our latest recruit. Rachael comes to us with experience of a number of different workplaces including Sheffield Community Volunteers, South Yorkshire Housing Association and Marks and Spencers Food department and she lists as interests "Aggressive Quad Skating, Crochet, Feminism and Veganism" so you will find her ready to chat about any of these if she serves you on the till - but please don't distract her too much while she's training!blog comments powered by Disqus
