As the season progresses the boxes are taking on a slightly more salady feel with lettuce tomatoes and radishes appearing. Root veg has pretty much all been finished and we've seen the last of the winter green crops - the Kale and Purple Sprouting, but the asparagus will still be good for the next few weeks. Traditionally, they stop cutting on Midsummers Day to give the root stock plenty of time to recover for next year's crop, although some growers have been trying to stretch the season a little later.
B's and E's will have a squash instead of potatoes
D's will have a cabbage as well as an additional 300g of potatoes
L's and M's will be getting a Red Pepper and some courgettes.
Matt posted a couple of salad recipes on here FIVE YEAR's ago - I know - five whole years. Here's a link - Radish Salad Recipes
We're still running our Share a Recipe campaign click on the link to see the latest. Do please send us a contribution. It can be anything veggie - a main course, light soup, an unusual salad or a tempting cake or dessert. And don't worry if you've never written out a recipe before just send us a list of ingredients and a rough idea of how to make it. An accompanying photo would be lovely too but is not essential.
