Organic Box Scheme

Beanies has been delivering Organic fruit and vegetables throughout Sheffield for more than 20 years and was one of the first Organic Box schemes in the city. We select produce both from local growers and from suppliers further afield to offer a seasonably-biased yet interesting variety throughout the year. We never use air-freighted produce in the boxes.

The contents of the boxes varies each week as we make seasonal selections but the following table gives you some idea of what you can expect:

    Contains 1kg pots, 500g Onions, 500g carrots and usually 4 other items – courgettes, tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, lettuce, cucumber, celery etc

  • standard veg (no potatoes) (B)

    Contains 500g Onions, 500g carrots and usually 5 other items – courgettes, tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, lettuce, cucumber, celery etc

    Price: £9.50

  • large veg (D)

    large veg

    Contains 1.8kg pots, 500g Onions, 500g carrots and usually 6 other items – courgettes, tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, lettuce, cucumber, celery etc

    Price: £11.50

  • large veg (no potatoes) (E)

    large veg (no potatoes)

    Contains 500g Onions, 500g carrots and usually 7 other items – courgettes, tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, lettuce, cucumber, celery etc

    Price: £11.50

  • UK-only produced veg (G)

    UK-only produced veg

    Similar size to a Standard A box but all produce is UK grown. Also available without potatoes.

  • small veg & a little fruit (T)

    small veg & a little fruit

    Contains 0.8kg pots, 400g onions, 400g carrots and usually 3 other items – courgettes, tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, lettuce, cucumber, celery etc, and around 4-5 pieces of fruit.

  • very large veg (L)

    Contains 1.8kg pots, 500g Onions, 500g carrots and usually 8 other items – courgettes, tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, cucumber, celery etc

    Price: £13.50

  • very large veg (no potatoes) (M)

    Contains 500g Onions, 500g carrots and usually 9 other items – courgettes, tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, lettuce, cucumber, celery etc

    Price: £13.50

  • standard fruit (K)

    standard fruit

    A selection of fruit usually including Bananas, Apples and Oranges along with other seasonal varieties

    Price: £9.50

  • large fruit (Q)

    large fruit

    A larger selection of fruit usually including Bananas, Apples and Oranges along with other seasonal varieties

    Price: £11.50


Do we deliver to you?

We deliver to a large area in and around Sheffield. Fill in the first part of your postcode and we’ll let you know if we can deliver to you.

Add on extras »

You are very welcome to add anything to your Vegetable Box order.  Freshly baked Cat Lane bread, milk, eggs, cheese and of course anything from our extensive range of wholefoods, speciality foods and greengrocery.  You can phone through to the shop or send an email to beanieswholefood@btconnect.com or use the Contact  tab on the Left hand panel. id=

And as you are taking a Vegetable or Fruit Box there's no extra delivery charge.


Box Discounts »

Order any box and receive a discount of £1.50 on any further box – so a Standard A box and Standard K delivered together would come to £16.50.


Don't like Garlic?! »

Nosferatu hates garlic id=If there is something you would rather not have in your box just let us know - we’ll leave it out and replace it with something else.

If boxes don't suit you... »

Give the shop a ring and talk to us about your delivery requirements.  Our vans are going out to different parts of Sheffield and the local region every day - if we can fit you in we'd be happy to drop off a box of groceries of your own choosing for a small delivery charge.


How to Pay »

 

You have options:

  • Pay the driver with cash or cheque if you are in.

  • Phone the shop with a credit or debit card.

  • Set up a monthly Direct Debit – we’ll keep tabs on your bill and take a payment from you once a month.Direct Debit id=
